Snap-on introduces the Truck Anchor Pin Press (TAP1), especially designed to remove and replace brake anchor pins and bushingswithout removing the hubon 16-1/2"" Q-type S-cam tractor and trailer brake systems from Dana Spicer, ArvinMeritor, Eaton, Timkin and Fruehauf. According to the company, the TAP1 also features:

  • A time savings of approximately 25 minutes per hub that you wouldn't have to remove.
  • Portability with a 3/4"" impact gun, cutting time from 30 minutes down to 5.
  • 3 times the strength and 30 percent more force output than standard comparable products.
  • Interchangeable pressure pads to allow the removal of a bushing, or the simultaneous removal of a pin and bushing, so you don't have to switch tools.
  • Retaining rings that secure pressure pads in place for more stability and control.
  • The maximum force transferal to pins and bushings during the replacement procedure.
  • A frame beveled on both sides for clearance around rivets on stamped brake ""spiders.""
  • A high strength yoke and heavy 1-1/4"" x 12"" pressure screw threads to move even the most difficult pins and bushings.
  • A shank with a reduced diameter to provide better hub clearance.
  • A Zerk grease fitting that lubricates and flushes dirt from the pressure screw to help maintain the life of the pin press.
